Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and RetroFi governing your access to and use of the RetroFi website and application (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information, for keeping your credentials secure, and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.

• Free tier. CSV statement upload, categorization, and core tracking at no charge.
• Paid tiers (Plus, Family). Add unlimited AI insights, extended forecasting, household sharing, and other features shown at checkout. Live bank synchronization via Plaid is planned for paid tiers and is not yet available.
• Billing. Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis through Stripe and renew automatically until canceled. You authorize us to charge your payment method for the applicable fees.
• Trials. If you start a trial, you may be charged when it ends unless you cancel beforehand. On trial expiry without conversion, your account reverts to the Free tier.
• Cancellation. You may cancel anytime from Settings → Billing or the Stripe customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law.

Live bank connections through Plaid are in development and not yet available. When launched, connecting an account will authorize Plaid to access information from your financial institution on your behalf and share it with RetroFi, subject to Plaid’s end-user policies; you will be able to disconnect at any time, which removes our access. Until then, all data enters the Service through files you upload.

You retain ownership of the data you upload or connect (“Your Content”). You grant RetroFi a limited license to process Your Content solely to operate and improve the Service for you — including categorizing transactions and generating insights — as described in our Privacy Policy.

You agree not to:

• Upload data you do not have the right to use, or impersonate another person.
• Attempt to access other users’ data or circumvent security or plan limits.
• Reverse engineer, scrape, or overload the Service, or use it to build a competing product.
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.

RetroFi provides informational tools, forecasts, and AI-generated insights based on the data available to it. These are not financial, investment, tax, or legal advice and may be incomplete or inaccurate. You are solely responsible for your financial decisions. Consult a qualified professional before acting.

The Service relies on third parties including Stripe, Supabase, Anthropic, and Resend (and Plaid, once live bank connections launch). We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or actions of these third parties, and your use of their services may be governed by their own terms.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that forecasts or categorizations will be accurate.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, RetroFi and its affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or USD $100.

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or if necessary to protect the Service or other users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (e.g., disclaimers, limitations of liability) will survive.

We may modify the Service or these Terms. For material changes to the Terms, we will provide notice (e.g., by email or in-app) and update the effective date. Your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, except where applicable consumer-protection law requires otherwise.
